We had an amazing week in London - and it was hot! We visited: Hampton Court Palace, Natural History Museum (definitely saw a dodo!), The Science Museum, The Tower of London, The London Eye, St Paul's Cathedral and the wonderful show, Aladdin.
We enjoyed staying at St. Paul's Hostel, where the staff were brilliant. The food was great, too. Have a look at the pictures.
WORLD BOOK DAY!
World book day,
Only once a year,
Reading is full of adventures,
Learning from there to here,
Deciding if you want to write.
Bringing joy and open light,
Over in a minute or two,
Kicking open opportunity.
Dazzling reader you could have been,
Attitude you will achieve ,
You can if you believe!

Happy New Year! Welcome back.
We are going to have another very busy term. Please see below a copy of the class letter, the overview of learning for this term and the homework leaflet. Please keep up-to-date with what is going on by visiting this page regularly.
Our Stratton key values are: Friendship, Respect, Responsibility, Peace and Truthfulness. Out of the many Christian values these were selected by the children, staff, parents and governors as our key values for school life.
Our home school value this term is WISDOM. Click on the link to find out more.
It is important that our Christian Values are evident and encouraged in our daily lives within our school community. In recognition of children who show responsibility, respect, friendship, who are at peace or truthful, we now have a "values tree" where their photo will be placed. The tree, in the school hall, has colour coded leaves representing our chosen key Christian Values. When a child is spotted by a member of our school community to be demonstrating one of the Values, their photo will go on the appropriate colour leaf in celebration.
Chinese New Year.
We had a great day learning all about Chinese New Year. We painted plates and learned a traditional Chinese dance. Have a look at our photographs.
We really enjoyed welcoming parents and other guests to our Open Afternoon to celebrate our learning. We were able to tell parents all about: our learning powers; peer mediation; persuasive writing; blogging; give challenges involving maths and English; spreadsheets (the pocket money challenge; KNEX challenge whilst enjoying a mince pie or two. Have a look at the pictures below.
The Christmas Fayre was a huge success! We loved making our games and raising money for the school. We worked very well together as a team and rose to the challenge brilliantly.
We had great fun at our party - have a look at the pictures.
What a brilliant day with Mr Russell, Head First Education. We had to work on a variety of challenges which all helped to improve skills such as: communication, teamwork, problem solving and increasing our resilience. It was great fun! We can't wait until tomorrow!
