Our School Vision

Unlock potential for lifelong learning

Our vision is that children will leave Stratton Church of England School well prepared for the next step of their education through-

  • The prioritisation of phonics and early reading so that they read at at least the expected standard with a significant proportion of children above this. That children enjoy books and read widely and deeply
  • The acquisition of knowledge and skills through a broad and balanced curriculum which reflects the value of our community and see beyond it
  •  The immersion in a culture which promotes a love of lifelong learning, Christian values and the skills to become a responsible citizen.

We provide every child with an excellent educational experience, which is enjoyable, stimulating and safe enabling them to reach their full potential. This learning is underpinned by our six core values – respect, responsibility, forgiveness, truthfulness, forgiveness and friendship. We bring teaching to life and inspire children by bringing tangible experiences both within and outside the school involving experts from the local community.

We ensure our children feel safe and supported in an environment where they have a voice, high self-esteem and good mental health.

We ensure our school is friendly, welcoming, active, vibrant and inclusive.

We take our safeguarding responsibilities very seriously and foster a safeguarding culture which goes above and beyond our statutory duties

We will prepare our pupils by helping them to become confident, independent, self-reliant lifelong learners.

We will teach our children to be open-minded, tolerant of other people’s differences, responsible, respectful and resilient.

We will be uncompromising in our aspirations for our pupils by creating strong foundations for future success.

We will treat adults and children fairly and are provide the opportunities they need to be successful.
