Term 1 & 2

Are carrots orange?

Welcome back, we hope you all had a wonderful half term break.  This term our topic title is 'Are Carrots Orange?'.  We have lots planned for an exciting and busy term from continuing our phonics, reading and maths to more cookery and getting ready for Christmas.  Have a look at our topic web for more of what we will be up to.

Thank you to all the help we've had from reading volunteers, it really does help us so much and the children love it.

If you have any questions at any time please do come and see us.

Welcome to Reception Class

Welcome to Reception Class at Stratton C of E primary School.  We hope you and the children are all settling into new routines in these first few weeks and we look forward to getting to know you all better, particularly the children as they begin their learning journey with us.

Our class topic this term is called

‘Do you want to be friends?’.

The Early Years Foundation Stage is split into seven areas of learning, all of which will be covered through our topic.  These are: Communication and Language / Physical Development / Personal, Social and emotional Development / Literacy / Mathematics / Understanding the world / Expressive arts and design.

Through our topic we will be learning all about life at school, making new friends, thinking about ours and others feelings, sharing, learning expectations and learning lots about each other and the things we like to do.

If you have any questions please come and see one of the team either first thing at drop off or after school.

Reminder that children will have P.E on Thursday and need a P.E kit in school.  Please also bring a water bottle daily and coat as needed.
