Scented Garden

Let's tiptoe through the tulips in this term's exciting topic.     

We will be learning and writing about plants, exploring and observing spring flowers and investigating the local environment.  Later in the term, do look out for our Andy Goldsworthy inspired land art in the school grounds and maybe even in the Abbey Grounds (if it stops raining of course)!

Land Ahoy!

Get ready to take to the high seas and set sail in search of treasure because our topic this term is Land Ahoy!  

In English this term we will be exploring myths, explanation texts and poetry.  In Maths we will be learning to tell the time and how to multiply and divide. In Science this half term, we will be learning about the properties of everyday materials and how they can be changed by squashing, bending, twisting and stretching. We’ll study paintings of boats and draw detailed pictures of our own. In history we will be learning all about Grace Darling.  Our map reading skills will help us to identify different seas and oceans, and we’ll learn about famous sea explorers. Stories of pirates will inspire us to make pirate flags, treasure maps and fact files. We’ll even find out how to talk and sing like a pirate!
