Welcome to Stratton CofE Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

Next PTA Meeting DateThe Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a friendly fundraising community that aims to provide equipment, facilities and experiences to benefit our children while supporting our School's values and curriculum.

If your child attends Stratton CofE Primary School, or you are a member of staff, you're automatically a member of the schools' PTA.

We - as a fundraising community - strive to enrich each child's learning journey by raising vital funds to provide experiences and resources that the school budget does not cover.

If you would like to help volunteer your time to help raise funds for the school, please do attend one of our informal PTA meetings. Come along - bring a friend or two - get a feel for our community and when you feel confident you could take on a more active role.

2021-22 Treasurer's Report

This is our first treasurer's report, having taken on the role in November 2021. Thanks to Louise Hayes for her help and guidance and explaining the role so well. A special mention to Jackie Stone for her kindness in auditing the accounts. Many thanks also to all the other members of the PTA for making us feel so welcome.

As the covid restrictions gradually lifted, the PTA was fortunate to see an increase in parent support, which has significantly helped towards fundraising efforts. Starting the Financial Year with a healthy opening balance of £8649.90 the PTA  was able to finance Beanology Wellbeing Workshops, as well as helping towards the replacement of Chromebooks. As the children enjoyed after school football sessions, the PTA helped fund the repair of the football pitch, Matt Worcester kindly donated the labour, with Andrew Pritchett and Travis Perkins donating the soil and barrier to keep the costs to a minimum. Other initiatives included a picnic bench for the year 6 leavers, a fridge freezer for the school and class books and dictionaries.

One of the main events organised by the PTA was ‘Festive Friday’, which due to covid restrictions took a slightly different format to previous Christmas Fayres but nevertheless made a profit of over £2600, including a generous donation of £300 from local estate agent Leaders. Other Christmas activities include a Wreath Making workshop and the Round Tables Santa’s Sleigh fundraiser.

Throughout the year, parents and children have generously baked, supplied, bought and supported numerous class cake sales. This has been an excellent source of funds by raising a total profit of over £1600.00. The return of ice-cream sales in the summer raised just under £500. The great pancake Flipathon was as popular as ever, the children raised over £1500 in sponsorship! This year’s Valentine’s Disco raised a record breaking £800! The Virtual Facebook market continued and raised £280. Halloween was in full swing with a spooky scarecrow trail and ‘Guess how many sweets in the jar’ which raised a combined profit of £190. There was a generous donation of £1000 to be put towards books for the school library. We also raised £194 with the collection of Bags2school. We would like to recognise the generous donations from Lisa Hooper who has given a percentage of her profits to the PTA for the book bag straps that she wonderfully creates.

Financially 2021-2022 has been a successful one for the PTA, we have enjoyed some new events as well as some old favourites, making a total profit for the year of £5148.54. With a closing balance of £13,798.44 ready for future investment in the school and for our children.

We are already well into the next financial year, with lots of events that have already happened, and many more in the pipeline to come which we are really excited to see.

The PTA is very grateful to all the staff, parents and children that help at the events, none of this would be possible without your support.
