PE

Physical Education

To ensure excellent teaching and learning of PE, we use the REAL PE scheme of work.

This scheme helps to support EVERY child to develop the physical literacy, emotional and thinking skills to achieve in PE, Sport and life. Real PE is fully aligned to the National Curriculum, Ofsted requirements and focuses on the development of agility, balance and coordination, healthy competition and cooperative learning.

EYFS and Key Stage 1

In the first 3 years at Stratton, we focus on developing fundamental movement skills and becoming increasingly competent and confident across a broad range of opportunities. This extends to children's agility, balance and coordination, individually and with others. They should be able to engage in competitive (both against self and against others) and co-operative physical activities, in a range of increasingly challenging situations.

In order for the children to be able to articulate what they have learnt , they need to be able to know and use the appropriate PE vocabulary.
