This week, we have fully embraced Christmas. We have read several Christmas books and poems and we have been writing our own Christmas poems, which we hope that you enjoy on Thursday. We also thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas party. Thank you for all the generous donations of treats. We also enjoyed our final Forest School of the year and we worked hard on creating a path, an obstacle course and ribbon sticks, all of which will contribute to our Brilliant Breaktimes project.
A huge thank you to the parents and children for their very kind gifts and cards. We hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas!
We have crammed this penultimate week of term with all sorts.: we have modelled resistance in electrical circuits with hoops and races in the playground; we have supported our houses in house rugby; we have completed our tote bags and we have sung in church and at the Christmas Fayre. All of this of course on top of our usual maths lessons, publishing our stories and reading them to class 5! Roll on the festivities next week!
This week, we enjoyed performances of the KS1 nativity and the pantomime. This has made us look forward to our own moments on the stage for the Mock Trials and our own production at the end of the year. The burning question is, what shall we choose? In the meantime, we are practising our French Christmas song which we will sing in Church next Tuesday and before the Christmas Fayre on Friday. We were very lucky to have Amy, from Cirencester Singers come in to give us an extra lesson and provide accompaniment. The other preparation for the Fayre that we have enjoyed, was making our electric buzzer/bulb games. We hope everyone enjoys playing! Then of course there was forest school, where we finished making our Christmas gonks, which look great. We're all super excited for next week!
This week we have enjoyed another variety of activities. We have performed role plays in our wellbeing lesson, read with our buddies, practised our rugby passing skills, modelled electrical circuits and begun to sew the bodies of our tote bags in DT.
This week, we have enjoyed practising our sewing skills in readiness for making tote bags in our DT lessons. Look out for the finished products at Christmas! In our wellbeing lessons this week we thought about our differences and considered the positive things associated with it.
This week was antibullying week. We had a visit from PC Davis, talking to us about being safe and behaving safely online. We also had a visit from Tom from SCARF to talk about decisions. We also enjoyed our reading session with our buddies and were impressed to note how much progress they have made since they started in September. PE was tough this week - we worked on our seated balances which really put our core muscles to the test.
Our first week back was a busy one! We enjoyed sawing and painting to make our Christmas decorations in forest school and in science we made our long awaited jam jar plant collages.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
