Term 6

As our third and final day comes to a close, I can’t quite believe the children still have energy! We’ve had another great day. We’ve celebrated Leo’s birthday. We visited the Tower of London for a workshop on Crime and Punishment and a whistle stop tour of the Crown Jewels. We then headed to St Paul’s. We were so impressed by the number of children who made it the whole 528 steps to the very top. We were rewarded with a spectacular view and an enormous sense of pride. A final trip to the souvenir shop ended our time in the city. Armed with our goodies, we all made it safely back to the coach. Sadly, a road closure has made traffic in London crazily slow. The children are taking it all in their stride though, happily enjoying the journey. We’ll see you very soon and boy will we all sleep tonight!

Day two done! We started our day with a couple of sightseeing buses - perfect for our weary legs. We then made our way down river for a sightseeing cruise. Next it was off to Parliament, where we watched debates in both the House of Lords and the House of Commons, conducted a workshop and met the parliamentary assistant for Roz Savage our MP. Dinner at pizza express was well earned and kept us going for our late night out to the theatre. Needless to say we’re all now exhausted, but looking forward to a slightly cooler day tomorrow for our return home. See you soon!

What a fantastic day we’ve had! Once we dropped our bags at the youth hostel it was straight on to the science museum for a show and an explore of the wonderlab.  We then headed to the V&A where we had a shady picnic in the garden, followed by a paddle. We also did an Alice in wonderland trail and picked out jewellery we’d buy for our mums if money was no object. We then walked past Trafalgar Square and moved on to Buckingham palace. We were very glad not to be a guard in a bearskin hat on a day like today!  We then played in St James’s Park before heading to the Southbank for tea at the Giraffe. Finally, we took our first tube ride back to Eatl’s Court.Needless to say we were tired out by the time we got there!

Another busy week of production rehearsals but also a whole day of spirituality and a day out in Gloucester for the Leavers' Service.  It was a super experience that not even the rain could spoil.

The first week back of term has been as busy as ever.  We have thrown ourselves into production mode and have been learning our lines, practising the songs and we spent a whole morning creating scenery and props.  In between, we have also managed to finish our Class Text, When Life Gives You Mangoes (what a twist!), actively learn about health and the heart and have a whole afternoon of Forest School.  This week we were also really impressed with the volunteers who came back to school on Thursday evening to present to new Class R parents - everyone was blown away by how confidently they spoke to a room full of adults.  We are so proud of them.
